Environmental Sustainability & Management Plans

Environmental Management Plans
The Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association (AMRTA) manages three of Western Australia’s most spectacular cave tourism icons – Lake Cave, Mammoth Cave and Jewel Cave - which attract more than 140,000 visitors annually.

These spectacularly decorated caves contain many fragile features which require careful management to ensure their continued preservation and sustainable use.
Subterranean Ecology was commissioned by AMRTA to prepare Environmental Management Plans for its three tourist cave precincts.

The Management Plans covered all aspects required to guide comprehensive and sustainable management of the underground and surface environments, visitors, and infrastructure within these precincts and connected catchment areas.
